Audacity for the MAC with Voiceover Revision 002
Yes, Audacity now works with the MAC as long as you download this version.
This guide is set up in kind of a "Q and A" format and we will be adding to this guide as time goes by.
Here is a link to the accessible mac version of audacity:

You will find a list of keyboard commands at the bottom of this guide.
How do you move through a project?
You need to be on a track in order to move through a project.
Cycle through tracks and tools with, command-f6.
How do you highlight an area of a track to be deleted, or, moved
Mark the beginning and the end with left and right bracket. Example, Use the comma and period to move back and forth through the track and add the shift key to move in larger increments. When you get to the part where you want to start the selection press the left bracket. Same when you get to the part where you want the selection to end press the right bracket. I usually play through it and mark it that way. Actually I'll find the beginning first and then let it play or use the period or shift period to move in larger increments and when I get to the spot, press the right bracket. Also, it is a good thing to press command-2 for zoom normal that way you have better control over cursor movements. I also recommend although not always necessary to press command-f for fit in window. I have worked without doing this but if you find there are some things not sinking correctly this would be good to do. Once audio is selected you can press the letter c to preview what it would sound like if it was deleted and then fine tune the selection. Also, if you want to move to a particular time in a track you can press the left bracket two times and you will be asked for a value. left and right arrow move between the columns of hour minute and second both 2 digit items. I usually press the home key first to get to the hour column and then right arrow from there. YOu can also set the end time as well by pressing right bracket twice, so if you know what times you want to select between you can set them that way.
How do you get to a certain place in a track/timeline?
Press left bracket until it asks for the position you want to start at and then follow the above procedure. and press enter.
about finding the values. When you press left or right bracket
twice you will be place in the dialog. Use control-option-w or f3 or
f4 for reading voiceover and keyboard focus to read the current value.
Unfortunately, when you move the arrows nothing is spoken so you will
need to keep checking the value. There are 6 columns 2 for hour 2 for
minute and 2 for second. Home brings you to the first column and end
brings you to the last. Up and down arrow changes the value in each
column or you can type the value in 2 digit increments although I have
much better luck using up and down arrows to change the values.
