The HTX-200 is a 2-meter amateur radio HT capable of transmitting 144-148 MHz at up to 2 watts & receiving 136-174 MHz, FM only. Frequency set by either VFO or Memory Channels (30 + C). Powered by two internal AA batteries or an external source of up to 9 V DC. On top of the case are (left) the SMA Antenna Jack & (right) two concentric knobs: the inner, taller is On/Off/Volume knob, the outer is SQUELCH. On the left are (top) PTT (push-to-talk) & (bottom) Function (F).

TO SELECT FREQUENCY USING VFO:
MR cycles between VFO & Memory Mode. Tune either mode using up or down keys.
To enter frequency directly when in VFO Mode:
Push F + up. The 10 MHz digit flashes. Use up or down to select desired number.
Again push F +up. The 1 MHz digit flashes. Use up or down to select desired number.
Continue as needed to set the desired frequency. When finished, push PTT to store.
To turn Repeater Offset on/off, push F + SC(RPT). Confirmed by + or – or lack thereof.
To set Offset direction, push F + MO(REV). Confirmed by + or – in Display.
The standard Repeater Offset is 0.60 MHz. If necessary to change Repeater Offset Frequency, push F + SC; then use up or down to select & PTT to set.
To scan in either mode, push SC. Same stops.

TO ENTER A FREQUENCY IN A MEMORY CHANNEL:
In Memory Mode, use up or down to select desired channel. Vacant memory indicated by --- Push F + MR. The Channel Number & “MR” Indicator in Display flash.
Select Frequency & Offset to be programmed as above (VFO). Set PL Tone as shown below.
Push PTT to set. To clear a memory channel, select it & hold in F.
The Call Channel can be programmed with one commonly-used or important frequency. Push & hold C until MR & C flash in Display. Select Frequency & Offset to be programmed as above (VFO). Set PL Tone as shown below. Push C again to set.

TO TURN ON PL (CTCSS) TONE & SELECT TONE FREQUENCY:
Push F+downT.SET. Then use up or down to select “tone on.”
Push F+down again to cycle between Receive Tone (rC in Display) or Transmit Tone (rT). For either, use up or down to select any of the 47 PL tones or “Off.” Push PTT to set.

TO REVERSE TRANSMIT & RECEIVE FREQUENCIES: Push F + PTT.

TO USE MENU:
Hold in F while turning unit On. Hold in F & use ??or ? to select from 8 options below. Under each, use up or down to select setting. Push PTT to set.
CS (tuning step 0.005-1.0 MHz),
bCLO (busy channel lockout),
t.dy (transmit delay time),
Sd (scanning restart delay time),
tot (time-out timer),
PS (power saver on/off), &
r (repeater offset frequency 0 – 8 MHz, standard/default 0.60 MHz).
